Unused Land that abutts I-95, Vacant land under the El

Acres and acres of unused, fenced land runs along I-95 from Girard to center city - some of it is mowed by the city; some areas are full of weeds - NONE of it is used - all of it is fenced in (the public is prohibited from access!). All of this land could (should) be landscaped and used as a dog park or a sitting area (benches, trees, trash cans would be needed).

There is a lot of vacant land under I-95 and the El (Market Frankford Elevated Line / Blue Line) - Particularly between the Spring Garden and Berks El stops. These parcels are large.

Fishtown is in dire need of a dog park. The recent population shift consists mostly of singles or couples with dogs. Parents don't want the dogs at the Recreational facilities and there is NO fenced park / safe area to take them - this has created major tension in the neighborhood. There is a committee of 35+ members dedicated to maintaining a dog park. Email beauty@fishtownlife.com for additional info.

Waterfront access and improvements are a necessity.

How about an area for urban farming to encourage youth to get involved with green projects?

More green roofs, tax incentives / energy credits to residents who install green roofs, water collection systems, etc.

Thanks for listening!!

Dog Parks, Bike trails, Waterfront Park

Why not section off a corner of a few of the local parks and make them a dog park? Have volunteers/dog owners maintain the park...

Bike trails along the waterfront similar to kelly drive, then connecting back to girard and lehigh ave with bike lanes.

Waterfront park... yeh

ball fields

1) New soccer fields 2) new baseball fields 3) better public waterfront access

I have been told there are not enough ball fields in this part of the city and I know better access to the Del River would be a big improvement! thanks!
